You’re Not Broken...

Embracing stress as a sacred invitation to upgrade inner systems, grow and evolve. By Claudia Castillo Holley.



You’re out on a new gorgeous hike, enjoying the great outdoors, the view and the feel-good sensation of self-care. Then, the steep hill shows up.


One minute you're connected to your stride, to the trail, strong and proud in your body.  And the next, you're gasping for breath, legs burning, your mind questioning if you have it in you to make it to the top - regretting the big dinner the night before.


There’s nothing wrong with your body, or the path, or your ability to do something difficult. You’ve simply reached the edge of your capacity, through an incline that asks more of you.


Now, willpower is great. Yet, instead of blindly powering through this stressful situation into a point of collapse, you can clearly see that all you need to do is slow down your pace, and match the cycle of your breath with your body’s needs.

You may or may not be conscious of it, but you are honoring the language of your boundaries. You may need to drink some water, take in the view, reassess your footing, and continue when you're ready, restored, stronger, more in tune with your own unique flow.


Life works the same way.



WHEN EVERYTHING FEELS LIKE TOO MUCH

We live in a world that glorifies constant motion. However, deep down, the undeniable level of stress in the current times has us depleted, foggy in the mind, heavy in our souls. Yet, we keep going even when we're empty and disconnected. The issue is not that we can't do it all. The real challenge is in the reality we create from that disorganized inner state, which is usually very far away from the vision we long for.


We mistake this for failure.

We tell ourselves we’re behind.

We feel the weight of “What’s wrong with me!?” crushing our hearts, in spite of all we do achieve.


But what if nothing is wrong? What if you’ve just reached a steep part of your path?

And what if, instead of life driving you into a collapse, you’re being invited to ease your pace so you can rearrange, innovate and evolve?


This inner friction is so so real, I get it! But it isn’t dysfunction.

It’s intelligence.


It’s your whole being whispering:

“This part of the path is steeper. We have the opportunity to develop new strengths. Let’s slow down, reorganize, and create more space for the upgrade.”



THERE IS NOTHING TO FIX. YOU JUST NEED SPACE.

When we’re emotionally stretched and spiritually scattered, we default to shame and self-judgment. But the truth is:


🌼 You’re not broken. There's simply an overload of stuff in your small - and wonderful! - energetic vessel.


There’s been too much, too fast, in too many directions. And your body, in its wisdom, is asking you to slow down so it can reset, process and upgrade to greater coping skills and resilience.


Just like on that uphill trail, the answer isn’t to abandon your path or question your strength. It’s to develop a deeper relationship with your inner rhythm.

To pause.

To breathe.

To notice where you're gripping. Where you're depleted. And where your resilience muscle is quietly calling for support, restoration, and grace.


This is the sacred work we were never taught: Creating more inner space when we feel contracted, so our heart can guide us, the mind can recalibrate, and our nervous system can become a safe inner refuge.


From this state of being, imagine how you get to influence your outer space!


YOU'RE NOT BROKEN. YOU ARE BRAVE FOR FEELING SO DEEPLY in a world conditioned for numbness.

We return through presence.Through practice.Through compassion.Through the radical act of choosing to soften our stride enough to hear the entire truth.To reconnect to the wisdom pulsating through our hearts, and letting that Higher truth lead us towards who we are becoming.
